Soul Selfie

photo (23)In our last class for the year at Mondays at the Mission one our guest speakers was Sekou Andrews an inspiring poet. He presented a poem about being awesome and showed the kids and mentors on how to take a Soul selfie whenever they were down to remind themselves of just how awesome they are. His words resonated with me as I have been on a path of reminding myself every day, in my own ways, of just how amazing my Soul is. This holiday season when we are taking selfies with friends and family let us not forget just how awesome each one of us is.

” We are higher than the heavens and greater than the angels. Our true home is Divine Majesty”- Rumi. ” You’re a part of the beloved, connected now and always to your source, and therefore connected to the unlimited power of the beloved. You can be all things at any present moment in your life”- Dr. Wayne Dyer. “You’re a precious and perfect unique design, Called God’s special woman or man”- Russell Kelfer. “God did not make a mistake when He made you. You need to see yourself as God see’s you”- Joel Osteen

We were all created in the image of God, and God is within us all. Our basic underlying nature is loving, peaceful, balanced and harmonious. We are innately compassionate, caring and kind. We are Souls. Over the course of our lifetimes, an overlay of fear, anger, envy, sadness, insecurity and many other negative thoughts and emotions accrues and covers our beautiful nature. This outer covering in intensified and reinforced by childhood training and experiences in the current life. We appear to be what we are not-angry and fearful people, filled with insecurity, guilt and self-doubt. We have forgotten who we really are. As we let go of the negative traits we can once again discern the true diamonds we really are. We are immortal and divine souls on our way home. We have always been diamonds underneath”- Brian Weiss, M.D

Remember you are a powerful and beautiful Soul. The gifts inside of you are endless. While we are busy unwrapping holiday presents let us remember to unwrap all the gifts that God gave us that are buried deep within us, with the same joy, excitement and wonder we show material gifts that are temporary and fade away in comparison to the endless supply of precious gifts within us 🙂  Wish you all a Merry Christmas and happy holidays !! God bless!! Cheers 🙂
